KR2 and KR2S Parts

One of the popular kits that available on the market and has a following is the KR2S created by Ken Rand in the 1970's.   A wood and composite airplane, it has come to be known as one of the best bang for the buck kits.  The advent of the "S" (stretch) version coupled with the popular corvair conversion installation has created a great little plane.  I personally built and flew N41768 and can attest to its strengths and great flying qualities.   Below we will start to show some of the components that we stock that accomodate this kit.   Call for availability and for custom made components.

Most installation components such as Coils, Coil Switcher, wires, controls, carburation, Coolers and more are available through our components list.

Motor Mounts
These mounts are made from 4130 Moly Steel and tig welded together using an assembly fixture custom made for this application.   Welded mounts are stress relieved and painted with zinc chromate primer and a poly black.  Custom painting is available upon request.  Mounts come with engine mounting hardware and instructions for installation.

 
KR2/S Mount  $550

EXHAUST SYSTEMS
Two Varieties of exhaust systems are available for the KR2.  We make one that is made of mild steel and then ceramic coated inside and out.    The second exhaust system is made from stainless steel.  Both systems work well but the ceramic coated one tends to lower temperatures in the engine compartment and have better flow.   The stainless is less prone to oxidation but the steel one is easier for simple repairs.   The price is the same for either system.
